The ‘HM SALIM RUN 10K 2024‘ marathon competition, organized with great enthusiasm, took place in the capital city Dhaka, Bangladesh, with the active participation of members of Hezbut Tawheed. The visionary planning and initiative behind this marathon were led by the honorable Emam of Hezbut Tawheed and Chairman of the Pinnacle Sports Association Mr. Hossain Muhammad Salim. The theme of this marathon competition was ‘There is no alternative to sports for the formation of a healthy society.’

On Friday, January 05, 2024, an extremely festive atmosphere surrounded the marathon competition. Ignoring the intense cold, thousands of men and women gathered in Uttara, Dhaka, well before six in the morning. The men’s race started at 7 in the morning, followed by the women’s competition 30 minutes later.

Among the male competitors, Muktaadir Ahmed secured the first position by completing the 10 kilometers run in 46 minutes, Sohel Rana secured the second position (47 minutes), and Mohammad Hridoy secured the third position (47.30 minutes). In the women’s category, Sumaiya Akhtar claimed the first position by finishing the 7-kilometer run in 40 minutes, followed by Najmun Nahar Beethi in the second position and Jahanaara Aktar in the third.
The noteworthy aspect of the event was its discipline. Managing discipline in a vast open space with the presence of thousands of men and women on a ten-kilometer route in this arrangement was not an easy task. However, the members of Hezbut Tawheed have demonstrated the impossible as possible. Throughout the entire event, not a single incident of mismanagement or indiscipline was observed. Mutual cooperation, self-motivation, and camaraderie prevailed, with all men and women participating in the competition, fostering an atmosphere of unity and harmony.

The focal figure during the event was the esteemed Chairman of Pinnacle Sports Association, Mr. Hossain Muhammad Salim, who also holds the honorable position of Emam in the Hezbut Tawheed movement. His presence and unwavering enthusiasm turned the event into a festive celebration.

After the conclusion of the marathon competition, Mr. Hossain Muhammad Salim, the honorable Emam and Chairman of Pinnacle Sports Association, delivered a crucial speech that resonated with everyone present. In his address, he expressed the primary objectives behind organizing sports and cultural events. He identified five crises facing the youth of Bangladesh.

MR. Hossain Muhammad Salim said that We are working to awaken the life force of the youth. We have organized cultural events and sports competitions promoting well-being in every division, district, and sub-district across Bangladesh. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of sports and cultural events in Islam, drawing references from Islamic history and the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). during his speech, thousands of men and women expressed unity with enthusiasm .

At the end of his speech, awards were distributed to the winners of the first, second, and third positions. Furthermore, all finishers were presented with medals by the organizers. It is worth noting that both men and women, totaling over a thousand participants, took part in the event, with almost a hundred achieving remarkable finishing points.

At the end of the marathon, a spectacular display was organized for the athletes and the Emam of Hezbut Tawheed himself oversaw this part of the event.

The event was presided over by Mr. Riyal Talukdar, the President of Pinnacle Sports Association and the Sports Secretary of the Central Committee of Hezbut Tawheed.

Special guests at the event included Khadija Khatun, an advisor of Hezbut Tawheed and Pinnacle Sports Association; Rufaydah Panni, Secretary of the women’s affairs of Hezbut Tawheed and editor of the daily Desherpata; Dr. Mahbub Alam Mahfuz, Dhaka Divisional President of Hezbut Tawheed; Al Amin Sabuj, Barisal Divisional President; Ali Hossen, Sylhet Divisional President; and Ayesha Siddika, Chairperson of the youth meeting organization.

The event was collectively managed by sports enthusiasts Taher Hossen Maruf, Dr. Tuhin Mahmud, Shah Nawaz Khan Ripon, and Farid Uddin Rabbani.
